About Me

My name is Tina and i'm 37 years old. The only home-ec class I took in school was in the 7th grade and the only thing I remember how to make from it was scrambled eggs. I never took an interest in cooking until I was about 17 and went through a vegetarian phase. I had always loved lasagna, but didn't want to put all of the meat in it. What was a girl with absolutely no cooking experience or knowledge to do? Well, I baked up a tray of french fries and stuffed the lasagna with them. (yes, evenly layering them with sauce and cheese). All I can say looking back is i'm surprised I didn't have a heart attack or gain 50 lbs. I thought it was good (the fries soaked up all the sauce were covered in melted cheese and were just heavenly), but apparently my family didn't quite share my enthusiasm because I still get teased about this recipe to this day. Not as much as the time that I attempted a pasta recipe that called for velveeta cheese to be mixed in it. I was told the outcome to that experiment could have been used to poison darts. But through it all I keep trying.

This is me when I was selling real estate a few years ago.

This is me (and my wonderful cousin Amanda) looking like I do most days, extremely casual to the point of no makeup and hair pulled back.

I was born and raised in sunny sin city (Las Vegas). My parents are both southerners (Georgia and Tennessee) so my cooking has alot of their influence (boiled peanuts anyone?).

This is my back yard. Isn't it just gorgeous?

I am engaged to a wonderful man who, due to the economic bomb that hit the construction industry in this town, is going back to school. He loves to cook himself and encourages me (mostly) in my kitchen experiments. I hope you enjoy reading about my cooking adventures as much as we do eating them.
